Be Encouraged! 1 John 2:12-14

Sometimes we just need encouragement, don’t we?  It can seem like the whole world is on our shoulder and if one more thing happens, we’re going to snap.  I love this little section where John just pours out encouragement on his readers.  In essence, he simply says, “I’m writing to you because you can do it…because it has been done in you!  Keep going!  Be encouraged!”  Just listen to some of these statements:

I’m writing to you…

…because your sins are forgiven for His name’s sake.

…because you know Him who is from the beginning.

…because you have overcome the evil one.

…because you know the Father.

…because you know Him who is from the beginning.

…because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

If you are in Christ today, regardless of the circumstances, be encouraged.  You are more than conquerors.
