We just put Jacob on an early morning flight bound for Boston. He will spend the next two months working with a church plant in the Back Bay area of the city. He’s really been looking forward to this for a couple of reasons: he’s interested in church planting, so this will be a good opportunity to experience the process for himself. Secondly, being born not far from Boston gives the area a special place in his (and our) hearts.
He’ll spend the next five days with some good friends of ours down by Cape Cod before reporting for his assignment back in the city. Hopefully, he’ll get some rest before jumping into the mix of things.
As you think about him, we would appreciate your prayers for him that God will use him in tremendous ways and that he’ll have a great experience. We’d also appreciate your prayers for us while he’s away. We’ll miss having him here this summer and it’s the longest he’s been away.
We’re really grateful he’s been given this opportunity and we so appreciate all of you who contributed to making this possible for him. I plan on giving updates throughout the summer as I get them.
